Aditi - The Infinite Mother
Aditi is the mother of all gods (Adityas) and represents the infinite, boundless space and the primordial nature.
She is the mother of the twelve Adityas, including Surya (Sun), Indra, Varuna, and Vishnu in his Vamana avatar.
When the demons (Asuras) defeated the gods and took over the three worlds, the gods approached Aditi for help.
Aditi performed severe penance and pleased Lord Vishnu, who agreed to be born as her son to restore the cosmic order.
Vishnu was born as Vamana (the dwarf) and through his three steps, reclaimed the three worlds for the gods.
This represents the theme of Punarvasu - the return of what was lost, restoration, and renewal.
