Aditi - The Infinite Mother

Aditi is the mother of all gods (Adityas) and represents the infinite, boundless space and the primordial nature.

She is the mother of the twelve Adityas, including Surya (Sun), Indra, Varuna, and Vishnu in his Vamana avatar.

When the demons (Asuras) defeated the gods and took over the three worlds, the gods approached Aditi for help.

Aditi performed severe penance and pleased Lord Vishnu, who agreed to be born as her son to restore the cosmic order.

Vishnu was born as Vamana (the dwarf) and through his three steps, reclaimed the three worlds for the gods.

This represents the theme of Punarvasu - the return of what was lost, restoration, and renewal.

Rama's Return & Renewal Stories

  • It bends in strong winds but doesn't break, showing flexibility and resilience.
  • Bamboo is used to build homes, representing shelter and security.
  • It symbolizes renewal, regeneration, and the ability to start fresh.

The House Symbol

  • House represents security, comfort, and a place of belonging.
  • It symbolizes family, relationships, and social connections.
  • The desire to return home after long journeys or difficulties.
  • Represents stability and the foundation from which one can grow.

Personality Traits

Positive Characteristics

  • Rama is a child of a powerful King. The native is wealthy by birth (well to do father).
  • Rama lost all his luxuries and comforts during middle age and lived in a forest. Native may loose wealth in middle age, may lead isolated life.
  • People got to know a secret that Sita stayed away from Rama for sometime, they laughed at Rama. A secret will come out about the native.
  • The story has two endings. One is Sita and Rama unite, while the other is that Sita goes into Patala and Rama cries continuously for her and ends his life in grief. So, end of life is unpredictable in Punarvasu like Ardra – it’s neither good nor bad.
  • Planets in Punarvasu work positively if native’s married life is good. As long as he is a bachelor / divorcee – things are bad. Rama was in grief only when he did not have a wife, however he ruled his kingdom well. Professional life is unaffected here. However, emotional disturbances are part of life during middle age and when wife is not around.
