Savitr and Varuna
- Varuna represents the darkest part of the night around 00:00 hr +/- 1.5 hours.
- Savitr follows him, starting the day in the Brahma-muhurta when the first ray of light emits.
- This light is around 4 am in the morning, about 2 hours before sunrise.
- At this time, birds and animals start coming out in search of water and food.
- Savitr is a stimulator, providing inspiration for all living beings to be on time.
Savitri-Satyavan-Yama
- King Ashwapati of Madra observed penance for 18 years for children.
- Gayatri devi blessed him with Savitri, a female child of enormous intellect.

- Narada warned that Satyavan would die in 12 months, but Savitri married him.
